Il confine da sempre, mostra il suo carattere fondamentale che è quello di segnalare il luogo di una differenza, di una separazione, di una chiusura reale o presunta che sia. Le panne unite tra loro e legate in modo tale da creare un quadrato, formano una barriera, un dentro e un fuori diviso da un confine che risulta essere però instabile e mobile dovuto al movimento dell’acqua.

All’interno del quadrato un liquido giallo viene contenuto per pochi secondi dalla rigidità delle barriere per poi iniziare a fuoriuscire spontaneamente e cominciare a mescolarsi con il resto del mare.L’apertura forzata delle barriere invece, sarà una prova per cercare di riattivare uno spazio chiuso, affinchè metaforicamente tutte le identità possano incontrarsi ed essere sullo stesso piano, ed ognuna di loro esistere in quanto confermata dalle altre. Si crea così uno spazio “altro” che diventa comune, che mescola, unisce e non divide,  senza ostilità, ma con  fluidità e lentezza, permettendo giustapposizione del vicino e del lontano, del fianco a fianco, uno spazio che  include e non nega. Con l’apertura si aiuta, in un certo senso, il processo inevitabile di unione iniziato spontaneamente e a noi  visibile grazie al colorante.  

Il gesto dell’apertura diventa pratica di tolleranza, di convivenza, d’accettazione, diventa trasformazione, riduce drasticamente la rigidità  dello spazio e il suo potere, ne annulla altresì il suo tratto più ostile ed aggressivo e diventa spazio allargato.  Il tentativo di circoscrivere una porzione d’acqua all’interno di uno spazio, di creare un rigido confine in mezzo al mare, è decisamente fallito.

Fundamentally boundaries have always indicated a line dividing different places, a separation, or a closure, real or otherwise.  The panels join together and are bound in such a way as to create a square, forming a barrier with an interior and an exterior and separated by an unstable and mobile border due to the movement of the water. Inside the square a yellow liquid is contained only for a few seconds by the barriers until it starts to pour out over the barriers spontaneously and blends with the rest of the sea. The forced overflowing of the barriers is an attempt to try to bring life to an enclosed space, so that metaphorically all identities can meet on the same plain, and be on the same level, and each of them accept the existence of the other.  In this way a "unique" area is created that becomes communal, that amalgamates, that unites and does not divide, an area without any hostility and with a fluidity and slowness, allowing the juxtaposition of the near and far and the side by side, a space that includes and does not reject.   This overflow of liquid is seen as an opening and helps in a certain sense the inevitable process of unity which starts spontaneously and is visible to us thanks to the yellow coloured liquid.  This ‘opening’ overflow represents the practice of tolerance, of coexistence, of acceptance, it becomes a transformation and drastically reduces the harshness of the space and its power, it also abolishes its most hostile and aggressive barriers and becomes an enlarged space.  The attempt to contain a body of water within a limited space, to create a rigid boundary in the middle of the sea, has definitely failed.
